Indiana Horseshoe Courts

This page will be built up by information sent in to the editor with the directions to particular horseshoe courts.  If the directions are not clear enough, or detailed enough, then others will email with corrections or more detail.  One day, we will all be able to drive right up to any horseshoe court in the state.

JOHNSON COUNTY COURTS - CAMP ATTERBURY (home courts of Indiana State Tournament)

If you are coming South on US 31, take SR 252 West until you see a sign for the Johnson County Horse Park on the left side of the road.  (The turn should be approximately 3 miles  West of US 31 on SR 252 West.)  Turn left (South) (following the sign), this is Schoolhouse Road.  You will go a couple of miles or so and then you will go past campgrounds on your right.  Keep going South and the building will be on your right (look for horseshoe pitching courts sign on your left-pointing to the right).

CURT DAY HORSESHOE COURTS - FRANKFORT
From the North:  Hwy. US 421 into Frankfort; stay on 421 turning left (East) when one block South of downtown courthouse; turn right (South) at next set of lights onto Clay Steet; go about 6 blocks and courts are on the left.

From the South:  State Hwy. 39 into Frankfort; County fairgrounds on the right; pass hospital (on the left); pass Hackett Street, then turn right (East) onto Freeman Street; drive to end of Freeman Street; turn left (North) onto Clay Street; drive North on Clay Street and courts are just past cemetary on the right.

From the East:  State Hwy. 28 into Frankfort thru 1st set of lights at Walmart shopping center; thru 2nd set of  lights at Frankfort Senior High School; continue past all eating establishments; thru a one block right turn-left turn jog  (staying on Hwy. 28); continue West past about 5 streets and then turn left (South) at the 3rd set of lights onto Clay Street; go about 6 blocks and courts are on the left.

From the West:  State Hwy. 28 thru town of Jefferson and into Frankfort, pass factories; over railroad tracks; thru 1st set of lights at Columbia Street; thru 2nd set of lights at Main Street; thru 3rd set of lights at Jackson Street; continue East and turn right (South) at 4th set of lights onto Clay Street;  go about 6 blocks and courts are on the left.

From the East on US 35 or IN 22 go into town to US 31(Washington St.) and turn south to the 1st traffic light and turn West on Defenbaugh St., Highland park is 4 blocks down. The courts are on your left when you enter the park.

From the east using IN 26 go past US 31 aprox. 1 mile and take County Rd. 100 W (Park Rd.) north aprox. 3 mile and it runs into Highland Park. The road will curve to your right and when you get to a stop sign turn left. The courts will be on your right.
 
From the West using IN 26 turn on County Rd. 100 W (Park Rd). go north aprox. 3 mile and it runs into Highland Park. The road will curve to your right and when you get to a stop sign turn left. The courts will be on your right.
 
From the North using US 31 stay on old 31 (don' take the bypass) and go through the uptown area. Stay on US 31 when US 35 turns left and go to the  1st traffic light and turn West on Defenbaugh St., Highland park is 4 blocks down. The courts are on your left when you enter the park.
 
From the south using using US 31 go to IN 26 and go west to County Rd. 100 W  (Park Rd.) go north aprox. 3 mile and it runs into Highland Park. The road will curve to your right and when you get to a stop sign turn left. The courts will be on your right.

From the West on I-70:  Take the WILLIAMSBURG PIKE EXIT 149A; Merge & proceed South on NW 5th St into Richmond 2.7 miles; Turn RIGHT onto W MAIN ST. at the Village Pantry; Proceed WEST 6 ½ blocks; Clear Creek Park is on left; Courts are situated at end of Park Drive.

From the West on US-40 (National Road): Enter Richmond; Proceed past CVS Drug, past Taco Bell/KFC, past Sunshine Café; At Wearly Monuments on your left, Make LEFT (north) onto SW 13th St; Proceed north to W MAIN St (Pool is on right); Make RIGHT, proceed one/half block to Clear Creek Park entrance on right; Courts are situated at end of Park Drive.

From the South on US 101/US 27:  US 27 becomes S. 9th St as you enter Richmond; Proceed to Uptown area to E. MAIN St & make LEFT; Proceed past County Courthouse continue straight under RR bridge then over Main Street Bridge; Becomes W. MAIN St; Proceed 11 ½ blocks; Clear Creek Park is on your left; Courts are situated at end of Park Drive.

From the North/Muncie on US 35 or Indiana 38:  Take US 35 or IN 38 Southeast; both becomes NW 5th St as you go over I-70; Proceed South on NW 5th St into Richmond 2.7 miles; Turn RIGHT onto W MAIN ST. at the Village Pantry; Proceed WEST 6 ½ blocks; Clear Creek Park is on left; Courts are situated at end of Park Drive.

From the North/Winchester:  SOUTH on US 27; Go WEST on I-70; Take the WILLIAMSBURG PIKE EXIT 149A (under overpass); Merge & proceed South on NW 5th St into Richmond 2.7 miles; Turn RIGHT onto W MAIN ST. at the Village Pantry; Proceed WEST 6 ½ blocks; Clear Creek Park is on left; Courts are situated at end of Park Drive.

From the East/Ohio on I-70:  At the Indiana/Ohio state border continue on I-70 for 7.2 miles; Take the WILLIAMSBURG PIKE EXIT 149A; Merge & proceed South on NW 5th St into Richmond 2.7 miles; Turn RIGHT onto W MAIN ST. at the Village Pantry; Proceed WEST 6 ½ blocks; Clear Creek Park is on left; Courts are situated at end of Park Drive.
